The Ockendon Studio School works in partnership with a number of local and international businesses. Our business partners mean that we are different to other schools and colleges because we are focussed on preparing our students for the world of work and higher education. As well as completing GCSE and A’ level qualifications our students learn key employability skills. This is achieved through a balance of work experience and employer projects working with our business partners, as well as additional training and a full enrichment programme.
For more information about engaging with the Ockendon Studio School students on regular work experience or project based work please speak to Yvonne Evans, Employer & Community Engagement Broker on 01708 851661 or email Yevans@theockendonacademy.com.
Our business partners include:
HW Wilson Limited Case Study
“Work experience is a great way to bring on a level of maturity that a purely academic education is unable to achieve. As employers we recognise it is the step up to work which requires a different mind-set and more practical work based skills that many young people lack when leaving school. It is the combination of academic and employability skills that the Ockendon Studio School will be offering that I find most exciting.”
Phil Pearson, Director, HW Wilson Limited
Vopak Terminals UK Case Study
“As an international employer with local employment opportunities we are pleased to support the concept of The Studio School to ensure our young people become skilled work ready employees of the future.”
Dawn Sims, HR Manager, Vopak Terminals
